This bill authorizes the town of Bridgewater to issue an additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be consumed on the premises, specifically to KOTAK LLC, doing business as Pages III Beer and Wine, located at 233 Broad Street. This new license will be granted notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, meaning it bypasses certain restrictions typically applied to such licenses. The licensing authority is prohibited from transferring this license to another location but can grant it to a new applicant at the same location if they provide proof of good standing with the department of revenue and the department of unemployment assistance.

Additionally, if the license is terminated, not renewed, or otherwise becomes inactive, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which may then reissue it to a new applicant at the same location within three years. The bill also stipulates that the new license must be issued within two years of the act's effective date, and upon issuance, the licensee must return their existing license for the sale of wine and malt beverages not to be consumed on the premises. The act will take effect immediately upon passage.
