This bill authorizes the city of Salem to convert seasonal licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages to annual licenses for two specific establishments: Amazing Pizza LLC and Maitland Farm LLC. The conversions allow Amazing Pizza to sell wine and malt beverages and cordials at 62 Wharf Street, while Maitland Farm can sell all alcoholic beverages at 84 Derby Street. Both licenses will be subject to the provisions of chapter 138 of the General Laws, except for sections 17 and 17A, which are specifically excluded. The licensing authority is prohibited from transferring these licenses to different locations but can grant them to new applicants at the same locations under certain conditions, including proof of good standing with the department of revenue and the department of unemployment assistance.

Additionally, the city of Salem may charge a fee for the conversion of these licenses, which can be paid in installments if the licensing authority agrees. Any fees collected that exceed the annual renewal fees for similar licenses will be deposited into the city's economic development account for appropriate use. The bill is set to take effect upon its passage.
