This bill authorizes the select board of the town of Arlington to place a question on the ballot for the 2026 town election regarding the issuance of two additional licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be consumed on the premises. It specifically allows the select board to bypass certain existing laws, including sections 11, 11A, and 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, as well as several acts from 2006, 2010, 2012, and 2018, to facilitate this process.

If a majority of voters approve the question during the election, the select board will be permitted to issue the two additional licenses, which will still be subject to the regulations outlined in chapter 138 of the General Laws, except as modified by this act. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon its passage.
