The bill proposes the establishment of an endometriosis task force within the executive office of health and human services, as outlined in a new section (16HH) added to Chapter 6A of the General Laws. The task force will be chaired by the secretary of the executive office of health and human services and will include various representatives from health organizations, insurance, and individuals with experience in healthcare and endometriosis. Specifically, it will consist of members from the NAACP New England Area Conference, the Massachusetts Medical Society Alliance, the New England Medical Association, the Tufts Center for Black Maternal Health and Reproductive Justice, and others, including individuals diagnosed with endometriosis and representatives from pharmaceutical companies.

The task force is tasked with several responsibilities, including developing and updating summaries of research advances, monitoring endometriosis-related services, and creating a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at improving health outcomes for individuals with endometriosis. This plan will focus on advancing research, enhancing public awareness, improving healthcare delivery, and ensuring accurate diagnosis. The task force is required to submit its recommendations to the governor and relevant legislative committees annually by December 31.
