The bill amends Chapter 111 of the General Laws by adding a new section, Section 245, which mandates the Board of Registration in Medicine and the Center for Health Information and Analysis to collect and publicly share data regarding the cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and educational backgrounds of the physician workforce in Massachusetts. This initiative aims to evaluate the effects of physician diversity on health outcomes within the state. Health care facilities are required to provide detailed demographic and professional information about their physicians, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, medical specialty, and employment status, on an annual basis.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that the collected data must be aggregated and made available on the Board of Registration in Medicine's website within 60 days after the end of each year. The Center for Health Information and Analysis is tasked with reporting this data to various legislative bodies and the Department of Public Health by February 28th each year. The act will take effect 90 days after its enactment.
