This bill mandates the Boston retirement board to increase the accidental disability retirement allowance for Patricia M. Lampron, a retired head of school who is totally and permanently incapacitated due to injuries sustained while performing her duties on November 3, 2021. The pension amount will be set at 100% of the average annual rate of regular compensation that would have been paid to her prior to her retirement, and all payments made under this act will be non-taxable as permitted by state and federal law. The benefits will be funded and administered by the Boston retirement board in accordance with chapter 32 of the General Laws.
Additionally, the bill entitles Lampron to indemnification for all hospital, medical, and related expenses incurred due to her injuries after her retirement. It also requires the Boston retirement board to pay her the amount credited to her as accumulated total deductions in the annuity savings fund as of the effective date of the act. The provisions of this act will take effect immediately upon its passage.
