This bill authorizes the town of Hudson to grant one additional license for the sale of wine and malt beverages that are not to be consumed on the premises, specifically for Hudson Hives LLC located at 45 Main Street, Suite 203. This license will be granted notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, meaning that the usual restrictions of that section do not apply. The licensing authority retains the right to approve a new applicant for the same location if certain conditions are met, including proof of good standing with the department of revenue and the department of unemployment assistance.

Additionally, if the license is terminated, not renewed, or otherwise becomes inactive, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which can then reissue it to a new applicant at the same location within three years. The bill stipulates that the license must be issued within three years of the act's passage, and if granted within that timeframe, it can be transferred to a new applicant under the specified conditions thereafter. The act will take effect immediately upon passage.
