(accompanied by bill, House, No. 160) of Michael J. Finn, Sean Garballey
and others relative to individuals with intellectual or developmental
disabilities, reports recommending that the accompanying bill (House, No.
4396) ought to pass.

An Act relative to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 15F of chapter 6 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
2 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 2 and 3, the words “Employ
3 Handicapped Persons Week” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Persons with
4 Disabilities Employment Week.
5 SECTION 2. Section 15LLLL of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
6 striking out, in line 2, the word “Autistic” and inserting in place thereof the following word:-
7 Autism.
8 SECTION 3. Section 15OOOOO of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended
9 by striking out, in line 5, the words “disabled individuals” and inserting in place thereof the
10 following words:- individuals with disabilities.
11 SECTION 4. Section 40 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking
12 out, in line 4 and 5, the words “disabled American veterans” and inserting in place thereof the
13 following words:- American veterans with disabilities.

14 SECTION 5. Section 56 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking
15 out, in lines 47-48, the words “and handicapped persons” and inserting in place thereof the
16 following words:- persons and persons with disabilities.
17 SECTION 6. Section 74 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking
18 out, in lines 2, 6 and 9, the words “handicapped persons” and inserting in place thereof, in each
19 instance, the following words:- persons with disabilities.
20 SECTION 7. Section 76 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking
21 out, in line 7, the word “handicaps” and inserting in place thereof the following word:-
22 disabilities.
23 SECTION 8. Section 77 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking
24 out, in line 19, the words “handicapped individual” and inserting in place thereof the following
25 words:- individual with disabilities.
26 SECTION 9. Said section 77 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby further
27 amended by striking out, in lines 5, 34 and 58, the words “a handicapped individual” and
28 inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- an individual with disabilities.
29 SECTION 10. Said section 77 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby further
30 amended by striking out, in lines 25, 29 and 30, and 38 the words “handicapped individuals” and
31 inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- individuals with disabilities.
32 SECTION 11. Said section 77 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby further
33 amended by striking out, in line 17, the words “handicapped individual’s family” and inserting in
34 place thereof the following words:- family of the individual with disabilities.
