The committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure to
whom was referred the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3740) of
David Paul Linsky (by vote of the town) that the town of Natick be
authorized to establish minimum seating capacity for granting licenses for
the sale of all alcoholic beverages or wine and malt beverages to be drunk
on the premises in said town, reports recommending that the
accompanying bill (House, No. 4187) ought to pass.

An Act authorizing the licensing authority of the town of Natick to establish minimum seating
capacity for granting licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages or wine and malt beverages
to be drunk on the premises.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 11 of chapter 138 of the General Laws or any
2 other general or special law or vote of the electorate of the town of Natick to the contrary, the
3 licensing authority of the town of Natick may determine what minimum seating capacity, if any,
4 shall be required in a premises for which a license shall be granted for the sale of all alcoholic
5 beverages or the sale of wine and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises.
6 SECTION 2. The authority conferred by this act shall not increase the number of licenses
7 authorized to be granted by the licensing authority of the town of Natick for the sale of alcoholic
8 beverages or wine and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises.
9 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
