The House Resolution commends the John Curtis Christian School boys basketball team for their remarkable achievement in winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2026 Division I Select state championship. The team secured the title by defeating Edna Karr High School with a score of 68-40 in the championship game held in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This victory marks the second state championship for the Patriots, who finished the season with an impressive record of 24 wins and only 2 losses, while also claiming the District 10-5A title with an undefeated record in district play.

Led by Head Coach Biko Paris and supported by assistant coaches Bryan Hammond, Malik Rhinehart, and Jonathan English, the team consists of dedicated players including Autrail Manning, Marlin Johnson, and Zaveon Sheperd, among others.
