This bill enacts R.S. 47:463.243 to establish a special prestige motor vehicle license plate known as the "Louisiana Dental Hygienists' Association" plate. The plate will be available to any citizen of Louisiana who applies, provided there are at least one thousand applicants. The design of the plate will feature a white and light purple color scheme, the words "Registered Dental Hygienist," the name of the association, and a symbol representing the association. The letters "RDH" will be prominently displayed, followed by four alpha-numeric digits for registration.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that an annual royalty fee of twenty-five dollars will be collected by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, which will be forwarded to the Louisiana Dental Hygienists' Association for their activities. This fee is in addition to the standard motor vehicle license tax and includes a handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents retained by the department to cover administrative costs. The secretary of the department is also tasked with adopting necessary rules and regulations to implement these provisions.
