This bill amends the Code of Civil Procedure to modify the venue requirements for legal actions involving the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System. Specifically, it removes the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System from the list of retirement systems that can be sued in the parish of East Baton Rouge or in the parish of the system's domicile. Instead, a new article, Code of Civil Procedure Article 84.1, is enacted to establish specific venue rules for actions involving the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System.

Under the new provisions, if the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System or its board of trustees is the defendant, the action must be brought in either the parish of East Baton Rouge or the parish of the system's domicile. Conversely, if the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System or its board of trustees is the plaintiff, the action must be filed in the district court of the parish where the cause of action arises. This change aims to clarify the legal process and ensure appropriate jurisdiction for cases involving this retirement system.
