This bill enacts a new section of law, R.S. 47:463.243, to establish a special prestige motor vehicle license plate known as the "Louisiana Democratic Party" plate. The creation of this plate is contingent upon receiving a minimum of one thousand applications. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections is tasked with the design and issuance of the plate, which will be available for passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, and vans. The design will be selected in collaboration with the chair of the Democratic Party of Louisiana and must include the words "Louisiana Democratic Party."

Additionally, the bill stipulates that an annual royalty fee of twenty-five dollars will be collected for the plate, alongside a handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents retained by the department for administrative costs. The collected fees will be forwarded to the Democratic Party of Louisiana and used exclusively for its activities. The secretary of the department is also authorized to adopt necessary rules and regulations to implement these provisions.
