This resolution commends Sheriff Jason Ard and the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office for their exemplary efforts in combating illegal narcotics trafficking and protecting children through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Under Sheriff Ard's leadership, the Sheriff's Office has made significant strides in public safety, including a historic seizure of approximately 361 pounds of methamphetamine, valued at around four million dollars, marking the largest drug seizure in the agency's history. Additionally, the office has successfully executed the largest fentanyl seizure in the parish, removing about 100,000 lethal doses from circulation, and has strengthened its narcotics division through increased personnel and resources.

Furthermore, the resolution highlights the establishment and expansion of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which has conducted extensive investigations across multiple states and countries, resulting in numerous arrests related to child exploitation. Collaborations with notable figures such as Chris Hansen have enhanced public awareness of online dangers facing children. The combined efforts of narcotics enforcement and child protection initiatives have significantly improved the safety and well-being of residents in Livingston Parish and throughout Louisiana, warranting this commendation from the Senate.
