Senate Bill No. 325, introduced by Senator Reese, amends the Louisiana Gaming Control Board regulations to expand the criteria for excluding individuals from participating in sports wagering. The bill mandates the board to establish a list of persons who are to be excluded from retail sports books and mobile wagering operations. This includes individuals who threaten violence or harm against anyone involved in a sporting event, as well as those whose presence is deemed a threat to the interests of the state or the effective regulation of sports wagering.
Additionally, the bill retains existing provisions that allow for the exclusion of individuals based on criminal offenses, documented disruptive behavior, or other criteria that may adversely affect gaming operations. The board is prohibited from excluding individuals based solely on their skill level, and it must ensure that exclusions are not based on race, color, creed, national origin, sex, or disability. The proposed changes will take effect on August 1, 2026.
