This bill enacts new provisions in Louisiana law regarding the roles and responsibilities of chiropractic preceptors and preceptees. It introduces definitions for "preceptee," which refers to a chiropractic student, and "preceptor," a licensed chiropractor, as defined by the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The bill outlines the conditions under which a preceptor can delegate responsibilities to a preceptee, including requirements for the preceptor's licensure status and absence of disciplinary issues.

Additionally, the bill specifies that a preceptor may allow a preceptee, who is currently enrolled in an accredited chiropractic college and has qualified for the college outpatient clinic, to perform adjustments or manipulations. Both parties must register with the board and inform patients of their roles. The preceptor must be physically onsite, though not necessarily present during the procedure, and the preceptee is prohibited from presenting themselves as a licensed chiropractor. Violations of these provisions may result in disciplinary action.
