This bill enacts new provisions under R.S. 13:783(F)(13) and (14) to provide for the payment of group insurance premiums for certain retirees of the Lincoln Parish and Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court offices. Specifically, it mandates that the clerks of court in both parishes will cover 100% of the premium costs for group life, accidental death and dismemberment, health, accident, dental, hospital, surgical, or other medical expense insurance for eligible retirees. To qualify, retirees must have at least twenty years of full-time service with their respective offices, be at least fifty-five years old, and begin receiving monthly benefits from the Louisiana Clerks' of Court Retirement and Relief Fund immediately upon retirement.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that the provisions do not extend to any supplemental insurance that employees may choose to purchase. This legislation aims to enhance the benefits available to long-serving employees of the Clerk of Court offices in Lincoln and Lafourche Parishes, ensuring they have access to comprehensive health insurance coverage in retirement.
