Additionally, the bill modifies the allocation of the $25 fee associated with the license plate. Previously, the fee was directed to the Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System (LASERS) to help pay down the state's unfunded liability. Under the new provisions, this fee will now be redirected to the RSEA Foundation, Inc. The changes are set to take effect on August 1, 2026.
