House Resolution No. by Representative Young honors Thelma Alice Smith Washington Williams on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday, celebrated on January 14, 2025. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, in 1925, Ms. Williams has had a distinguished career in education, serving as an assistant professor and dance instructor at Grambling College, as well as working at Grambling High School. She holds a bachelor's degree from Morgan State University and a master's degree from West Virginia University. In addition to her teaching career, she has authored a book and has extensive experience in choreography, having worked on numerous events and productions.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Williams is recognized for her community involvement and mentorship, having positively impacted the lives of countless youth. She has hosted a radio and television show and is an active member of various organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and New Rocky Valley Baptist Church. The resolution expresses the Louisiana House of Representatives' commendation for her lifetime of service to the Grambling community and extends wishes for her continued prosperity.
