The Louisiana Legislature has passed a resolution to commend the Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots Baseball Team for their remarkable achievement during the 2025 season, where they finished with an unprecedented undefeated record of 59-0. This historic season culminated in the team winning the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Baseball National Championship, marking the first national title in the program's history. Under the leadership of Head Coach Brad Neffendorf, the Pilots not only set a new benchmark in collegiate athletics by breaking the previous record of 57 consecutive wins but also showcased their dominance throughout the season with impressive statistics, including a team batting average of .361 and an average of 11.3 runs per game.
The resolution highlights the team's resilience, particularly in the championship game where they overcame a 4-0 deficit to defeat Southeastern University (Florida) 13-7. The Pilots' success has brought pride to their university and the state of Louisiana, inspiring future generations of student-athletes. The resolution also recognizes individual achievements, with five players earning spots on the 2025 NAIA Baseball All-American Teams and Isaac Rohde receiving the Most Valuable Player award. A copy of the resolution will be sent to Head Coach Brad Neffendorf and the LSUS Athletic Department to honor their accomplishments.
