The Louisiana House of Representatives has passed a resolution to commend the Sigma Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, on the occasion of its thirty-fifth anniversary. Established on May 19, 1990, by six dedicated women in Shreveport, the chapter has significantly contributed to the northwest Louisiana community through its commitment to the sorority's mission of "Service to All Mankind." Over the years, the chapter has grown to over two hundred members, including educators, healthcare professionals, and civic leaders, and has implemented various programs, such as the Debutante Program, which has mentored over six hundred fifty high school seniors.

In addition to its mentorship initiatives, the Sigma Rho Omega Chapter has awarded more than two hundred eighty-eight scholarships and completed over sixty thousand hours of community service in the past two decades. The chapter also established the Pearls of Humanity Foundation in 2015 to enhance its philanthropic efforts. Notably, they have provided substantial support to combat childhood hunger by delivering thousands of meals to local families. The resolution recognizes the chapter's enduring commitment to community upliftment and its alignment with the International Program Initiatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, which focus on improving quality of life and advocating for social justice.
