House Resolution No. ___ commends seven-year-old Charity Boney, a second-grade student at Hillcrest Elementary School in Ruston, for her outstanding achievement in placing first in the 2025 Regional Braille Challenge. This competition is unique as it is the only academic event of its kind for students in grades one through twelve who are blind or visually impaired. Despite her visual impairment, caused by familial exudative vitreoretinopathy, Charity has demonstrated remarkable skill and determination, earning her a spot as one of two students from Louisiana invited to compete in the Braille Challenge Finals in Los Angeles.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Charity is an active member of the Girl Scouts and enjoys various activities such as puzzles, coloring, and dancing. The resolution highlights the pride and honor she brings to her family, friends, and the state of Louisiana, and it expresses best wishes for her success in the upcoming finals and future endeavors.
