The Louisiana Senate has passed a resolution to commend the St. Louis Catholic High School Boys Golf Team for their impressive victory in the 2025 Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Division II State Championship. This marks the team's second title in three years, achieved during a weather-shortened tournament at The Farm d'Allie Golf Club in Carencro. The team showcased exceptional skill and composure, finishing with a total score of 457 (+25) over 27 holes. Notably, junior Kye Hanks excelled individually, securing the state title with a total score of 106 (-2), which included a remarkable performance on the first day.
The resolution highlights the contributions of all team members, including Samuel Broussard, Kane Hanks, Evan Comeaux, and Luke LeBeouf, who collectively demonstrated depth and teamwork throughout the competition. Their achievements have brought pride to their school, families, and the Lake Charles community. The Senate resolution not only congratulates the team and Kye Hanks but also calls for copies to be sent to key figures at St. Louis Catholic High School, including Principal Kelly DeMolle and Athletic Director Michael "Pat" Neck.
