The Senate Resolution recognizes and commends the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Greater New Orleans Chapter, Inc. (NCBW-GNO) for its significant contributions to the community and its commitment to promoting gender equity, leadership development, and socioeconomic advancement for Black women and girls. Founded in 1988, NCBW-GNO has been a powerful advocate for Black women and girls, addressing disparities and advancing public policy through various initiatives, including mentorship programs, health campaigns, financial literacy workshops, and voter engagement drives. The chapter is part of a larger national organization that has been active since 1970, advocating for over 20 million Black women across the United States.
The resolution highlights the chapter's role as a vital network and leadership forum, showcasing the dedication of its members—comprising professionals from various fields—who work tirelessly to uplift their communities. The Louisiana Senate expresses its esteem and appreciation for NCBW-GNO's extraordinary dedication to public service and its transformative leadership, and it plans to transmit a copy of the resolution to the chapter's president, Lanissa Grogan Stewart, in recognition of their efforts on May 28, 2025.
