The Louisiana Legislature has passed a resolution to commend Andrew Whitworth for his induction into the 2025 class of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. Whitworth, known as "Big Whit," has had an illustrious football career that began in Louisiana, where he led West Monroe High School to three state championships and later excelled at Louisiana State University (LSU). During his time at LSU, he earned multiple accolades, including All-SEC honors and played a pivotal role in the team's national championship victory in 2003. Following his college career, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals and went on to have a successful 16-year career in the NFL, culminating in a Super Bowl win with the Los Angeles Rams.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Whitworth is recognized for his charitable work and community leadership, having received the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award for his philanthropy. Through the Big Whit 77 Foundation, he has made significant contributions to various causes, including a notable donation to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank during the COVID-19 pandemic. The resolution not only honors his sports accomplishments but also highlights his positive impact off the field, as he continues to serve as a role model and NFL analyst.
