House Resolution No. ___ commends Jeffery Scott Tageant for his remarkable contributions as an educator, mentor, and baseball coach at Franklinton High School. Over his thirty-five-year coaching career, Coach Tageant achieved an impressive record of 565 wins and a 63% winning percentage, leading the team to fifteen district championships and playoff appearances in thirty-two seasons. He has coached over 800 young men in varsity baseball, with 22 of his former players going on to become high school baseball coaches themselves. His accolades include being recognized as the winningest coach in Franklinton High School history, receiving the District Coach of the Year award fifteen times, and being honored with the Tony Robichaux Award for his ethics and character.

In addition to his coaching achievements, Coach Tageant has been actively involved in the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association, serving as president and on the executive board, and coaching the 2009 LBCA All-Star Team. A proud alumnus of Franklinton High School, he has also coached his sons, who achieved national championships at the collegiate level.
