The House Concurrent Resolution establishes the Caleb Wilson Hazing Prevention Task Force in Louisiana, aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the state's anti-hazing laws and the hazing prevention policies and practices at postsecondary educational institutions. This initiative arises from the alarming prevalence of hazing incidents among college students, despite existing laws that impose penalties for such actions. The task force will consist of 26 members, including legislators, education officials, law enforcement representatives, and student representatives from various public postsecondary education systems in Louisiana.

The task force's responsibilities will include assessing current state and federal hazing laws, evaluating existing hazing prevention policies, and reviewing the consequences for violations. Additionally, the task force will explore best practices from other states and may engage with student focus groups to gather insights. A report detailing their findings and recommendations is to be submitted to relevant legislative committees by January 31, 2026. The Board of Regents will provide staff support for the task force, and members will serve without compensation, with some eligible for travel reimbursement.
