This bill amends the existing law regarding the French Quarter Management District in New Orleans by extending the district's existence from June 30, 2028, to June 30, 2033. Additionally, it introduces new provisions that allow the district to procure its own emergency sanitation services if the city is unable to provide these services due to a lack of staff or contracted vendors.

The newly enacted language specifies that when the city cannot maintain sanitation services at a level consistent with historical practices, the district has the authority to secure an emergency contract for these services. The costs incurred for such emergency sanitation services will be reimbursed by the city through an intergovernmental transfer of funds, contingent upon authorization and allocation by the Orleans Parish governing authority. The emergency contract will remain in effect until the city resumes its sanitation services.
