This bill enacts a new section, R.S. 40:2267.6, which authorizes the Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory Commission to name the new Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory building after District Attorney Martin Bofill "Bo" Duh. The building will be officially designated as the "Martin Bofill 'Bo' Duh Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory" in recognition of Duh's contributions, including his service on the commission since 2015 and his role in securing funding for the laboratory's construction.

The bill highlights Duh's leadership as president of the commission from 2017 to 2021 and his collaborative efforts with local and state officials to establish the new facility. The act will take effect upon the governor's signature or, if not signed, after the designated period for bills to become law without signature. If vetoed and later approved by the legislature, it will become effective the day after such approval.
