House Resolution No. by Representative Mandie Landry directs the Louisiana Department of Health to compile and submit a report to the House and Senate committees on health and welfare by February 1, 2025. This report is in response to the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade and led to the enactment of Act No. 545, restricting abortion-related healthcare services in Louisiana. The resolution highlights concerns regarding the impact of these legislative changes on maternal healthcare and outcomes, particularly in light of public scrutiny and the need for comprehensive data on women's health.

The report is expected to include critical statistics from the past two years, such as rates of full-term pregnancies, miscarriages, stillbirths, maternal and infant mortality, as well as costs associated with pregnancies covered by Medicaid and private insurance. Additionally, it will address sexually transmitted infection rates and domestic violence statistics among pregnant women, along with the average income of the women represented in the data. This initiative aims to ensure that the legislature is informed about the current state of women's health in Louisiana following significant legal and regulatory changes.
