The Louisiana Legislature has passed a resolution to commend Corporal Adam Bradford for receiving the prestigious TOP COPS Award, which honors law enforcement officers for their exceptional bravery and dedication to duty. The TOP COPS Awards, presented annually by the National Association of Police (NAPO) since 1994, recognize officers from across the United States who have gone above and beyond in their service. Corporal Bradford, a member of the Lafayette Police Department and a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps, has been acknowledged for his courageous actions during a critical incident on August 5, 2023, where he and his fellow officers responded to a dangerous situation involving an armed suspect.

During this incident, Corporal Bradford and other officers displayed remarkable bravery, with Officer Raynard Ford breaching a door to rescue individuals inside while under fire, and Officer Cortez risking his safety to assist a wounded colleague. Corporal Bradford, who is also the spouse of Officer Hali Bradford, played a vital role in ensuring her safety and providing medical aid after she was shot. The resolution highlights the extraordinary actions of Corporal Bradford and his colleagues, emphasizing their commitment to protecting their community and exemplifying the highest ideals of law enforcement. A copy of the resolution will be transmitted to Corporal Bradford in recognition of his achievements.
