The House Concurrent Resolution commends the Lutcher High School baseball team for winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2024 Division II Non-Select state championship. The Bulldogs achieved this victory by defeating North Vermilion High School with a score of 4-0 in the championship game held at McMurry Park in Sulphur, Louisiana. With a season record of 31 wins and 7 losses, this championship marks the second LHSAA title for Lutcher in the last three seasons. Quinn Smith was named the Most Outstanding Player of the game for his impressive performance, which included striking out seven batters and allowing only three hits.
The resolution also recognizes the efforts of Lutcher's head coach, Ryan Jensen, and his assistant coaches for their preparation and guidance throughout the season. With this latest title, the Lutcher High School baseball program now boasts a total of six state championships.
