This bill amends the Louisiana Crawfish Promotion and Research Board's structure and operational guidelines. It increases the board's membership from eleven to thirteen members, with three members now required to be engaged in crawfish farming or harvesting, nominated from a list of six by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation. Additionally, the bill specifies that one member must be involved in the crawfish industry and appointed from a list of three nominees from an owner or operator of a facility that produces or sells artificial crawfish bait.

The terms of board members will now align with the term of the commissioner of agriculture and forestry, who will also submit appointments for Senate confirmation. The bill modifies the quorum requirement to a majority of appointed members present and voting, and it changes the meeting frequency from quarterly to at least twice a year, allowing for additional meetings at the chairman's call or by request of any four members. Furthermore, it limits the per diem or mileage compensation to no more than twelve meetings per calendar year.
