Abstract: Repeals the termination date of the insurance fraud investigation unit within the Dept.
of Public Safety and Corrections.
Present law provides for the insurance fraud investigation unit within the Dept. of Public Safety and
Corrections. Generally requires the insurance fraud investigation unit to conduct independent
inquiries and investigations into allegations of insurance fraud.
Present law terminates the insurance fraud investigation unit on July 1, 2024.
Proposed law repeals the unit's effectiveness provision and termination date. Otherwise retains
present law.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
