Existing law provides for the creation of the Louisiana Energy and Power Authority.
Existing law provides that by an ordinance unanimously adopted and approved by all
members of the board of directors, provisions may be made for the appointment of additional
directors to increase the membership of the board of directors of the Louisiana Energy and
Power Authority to include other appointments by any municipality which is engaged in the
generation, transmission, or distribution of electricity.
New law retains existing law but provides that an ordinance to increase the membership of
the board of directors of the Louisiana Energy and Power Authority must be adopted and
approved by a majority of members of the board of directors.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
