RÉSUMÉ DIGEST
ACT 176 (SB 372) 2024 Regular Session Harris
Prior law provided relative to motor vehicle contracts and requires that a provider of such
contract sold in the state file an application for an initial registration with the secretary of
state for a motor vehicle service contract sold in this state. Required that each applicant for
registration pay a $600 fee to the secretary of state.
New law retains prior law and removes the $600 registration fee.
Prior law provided that a registration shall be effective for two year, unless denied or
revoked, and provides that 90 days prior to the expiration of a registration, a provider shall
submit a renewal application on a form prescribed by the secretary of state. Required that a
$250 renewal application fee to be paid to the secretary of state.
New law retains prior law and removes the $250 renewal fee.
