EXPENDITURE EXPLANATION
Proposed legislation provides for a new composition of the LA Cancer Advisory Board and authorizes it to determine
procedures to allocate monies collected by the Board for cancer prevention, control, or surveillance. These new procedures
may provide for expenditure of an accrued fund balance of approximately $344,000, originating from donations to the Board
made by individuals on their income tax returns. The amount of these allocations and the timing of their expenditure is
indeterminable at this time. The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans houses the Louisiana
Tumor Registry and reports the proposed measure will bolster efficiency and augment the registry’s capacity to facilitate
cancer research.
REVENUE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental revenues as a result of this measure.
