Provides relative to emergency medical services. (gov sig)
Proposed law defines “emergency medical personnel” to include Emergency Medical Services (EMS) practitioners and
certified ambulance operators. Proposed law clarifies that in addition to the Louisiana Bureau of EMS, the Louisiana EMS
Certification Commission shall also have access to criminal records for anyone seeking an EMS practitioner license or
ambulance operator certification. Proposed law removes unused EMS exams from the exam fee schedule. Proposed law
updates language and reorganizes present law concerning EMS licenses and certifications and the composition of the
Louisiana EMS Certification Commission.

There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental expenditures as a result of this measure. The Louisiana
Department of Health (LDH), Bureau of EMS reports that the changes to present law are clarifying in nature.
REVENUE EXPLANATION
There is no anticipated direct material effect on governmental revenues as a result of this measure. The exams removed
from the fee schedule are not currently in use by the Louisiana Bureau of EMS.
