RÉSUMÉ DIGEST
ACT 442 (HB 661) 2024 Regular Session Bryant
Prior law required that charter boat fishing guides possess and keep on their person while on
the water proof of liability insurance.
New law requires that charter boat fishing guides possess and keep on their person while on

requirements for charter fishing.
New law adds that first-time violations of the charter fishing licensing requirements will
require the payment of a fine of at least $1,000.
Existing law provides for the membership of the La. Finfish Task Force.
New law retains the members provided for in existing law and adds two additional members
to the task force, including one member to be appointed by the governor from two nominees
submitted by the La. Charter Boat Association, and one member to be appointed by the
governor from two nominees submitted by the Women's Southern Fisheries Alliance.
