New law requires monies from the "3'" for Cyclists" special license plate royalty fee be used
solely to assist the Metro Bicycle Coalition of New Orleans.
New law requires the monies from the "Support Wildlife Rehabilitation" plates be used to
assist with the costs of wildlife rehabilitation.
New law requires monies from the "St. Thomas Aquinas" specialty license plate be solely
used to assist the administration.
New law requires monies from the "Evangel Christian Academy" plate be used solely to
assist the school.
New law requires monies from "United States Submarine Veterans" be used to provide
scholarships for children.
New law requires monies from "Leesville High School Alumni' be used to provide
scholarships.
New law requires monies from "Humane Society of Louisiana" be used to fund spay and
neuter programs to help with current overpopulation of animals.
New law requires the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections issue a special prestige license
plates to be known as the "3' for Cyclists", "Support Wildlife Rehabilitation", "St. Thomas
Aquinas", "Evangel Christian Academy", "United States Submarine Veterans", "Leesville
High School Alumni", and "Humane Society of Louisiana" specialty license plates, provided
there is a minimum of 1,000 applicants for each plate.
New law requires that the secretary work in conjunction with the Metro Bicycle Coalition
of New Orleans to select the color and design of the "3' for Cyclists" plate. Further requires
the design include the words "3' for Cyclists".
New law requires that the secretary work in conjunction with NOLA Wildlife Center to
select the color and design of the "Support Wildlife Rehabilitation" plate. Further requires
the design to include an image or logo of a wild animal, and include the words "Support
Wildlife Rehabilitation".
New law requires the secretary work in conjunction with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
school to select the color and design of the "St. Thomas Aquinas" plate. Further requires the
design to include the words "St. Thomas Aquinas".
New law requires that the secretary work in conjunction with Evangel Christian Academy
administration to select the color and design of the "Evangel Christian Academy" plate.
Further requires the design to include the words "Evangel Christian Academy".
New law requires the secretary to work in conjunction with the United States Submarine
Veterans Charitable Foundation, Inc., to select the color and design of the United States
Submarine Veterans" plate. Further requires the design to include the words "United States
Submarine Veterans".
New law requires the secretary to work in conjunction with the Alumni Association
Executive Board, to select the color and design of the "Leesville High School Alumni" plate.
Further requires the design include the words "Leesville High School Alumni".
New law requires the secretary to work in conjunction with the Humane Society of
Louisiana, to select the color and design of the "Humane Society of Louisiana" plate. Further
requires the design include the words "Humane Society of Louisiana".
New law specifies that the license plates be issued, upon application, to any citizen of La. in
the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
New law requires the department to collect an annual royalty fee of $25 in addition to the
standard motor vehicle license tax and a $3.50 handling fee for each plate to be retained by
the department to offset a portion of administrative costs.
New law requires the secretary to promulgate and adopt rules and regulations to implement
the provisions provided in new law.
Directs the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections, office of motor vehicles, to create the "3'
for Cyclists", "Support Wildlife Rehabilitation", "St. Thomas Aquinas", "Evangel Christian
Academy", "United States Submarine Veterans", "Leesville High School Alumni", and
"Humane Society of Louisiana" speciality license plates when the applicable statutory
provisions are met and its system is updated to accommodate the creation of new plates.
