Existing law authorizes absentee by mail ballots to be returned to the registrar by the U.S.
Postal Service, a commercial courier, or hand delivery.
Prior law prohibited a person, except an immediate family member of the voter, from hand
delivering more than one marked ballot per election to the registrar.
New law prohibits a person, except an immediate family member of the voter, from
submitting more than one marked ballot per election by any means, including sending
through the U.S. Postal Service or commercial courier.
Effective August 1, 2024.
