RÉSUMÉ DIGEST
ACT 268 (HB 458) 2024 Regular Session Fontenot
Existing law specifies that the provisions listed in existing law regarding persons operating
a motor vehicle with any object or material placed on or affixed to the front windshield or
to front side windows of the vehicle so as to obstruct or reduce the driver's clear view
through the front windshield or front side windows, or place on or affix to the front
windshield or the front side windows of a motor vehicle, any transparent material if the
material alters the color or reduces the light transmission of the windshield or front side
windows.
Prior law excluded the provisions in existing law regarding window tint from applying to
publicly owned law enforcement vehicles but specified that existing law still applies to
vehicles that are owned by the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries.
New law modifies prior law to add enforcement operation vehicles owned or used by the
Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries to those excluded from statutory window tint requirements.
Effective August 1, 2024.
