This bill enacts a new section of law, R.S. 47:463.230, to establish a special prestige motor vehicle license plate titled "Louisiana State University Baseball National Champions." The bill mandates that the Secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections create this license plate, contingent upon receiving a minimum of one thousand applications. The plate will be available for various types of vehicles, including passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, and vans. The design of the plate will be selected in collaboration with the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors and must include the phrase "LSU Baseball National Champions."

Additionally, the bill outlines the financial aspects associated with the license plate. An annual royalty fee of twenty-five dollars will be collected, which will be in addition to the standard motor vehicle license tax. A portion of this fee will be retained by the department to cover administrative costs, while the remainder will be donated to Louisiana State University. The Secretary is also tasked with promulgating necessary rules and regulations to implement these provisions. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections is directed to create the license plate once the statutory requirements are met and their systems are updated accordingly.
