Abstract: Requires submission of questions by the La. Arborist Assoc. and the Southern University
Agricultural Research and Extension Center for arboricultural examinations and utility
arboricultural examinations and requires that the La. Arborist Assoc. or any other entity as
determined by the commission to provide continuing training seminars for license renewals
for arborists and utility arborists. Further provides for the requirements for license renewals.
Present law requires that the arboricultural examination and utility arboricultural examination are
compiled from a list of questions submitted by LSU Agricultural Center and La. Dept. of Agriculture
and Forestry.
Proposed law retains present law and adds the La. Arborist Assoc. and Southern University
Agricultural Research and Extension Center to the entities required to submit questions for the
arboricultural examination and utility arboricultural examination.
Present law requires that arborists and utility arborists complete a continuing training seminar as
determined by the commission.
Proposed law modifies present law by authorizing the La. Arborist Assoc. or any other entity as
determined by the commission to administer the continuing training seminar for license renewals for
arborists and utility arborists. Proposed law further clarifies that proof of general insurance and
workers compensation is required, if applicable.
