Existing law requires that the arboricultural examination and utility arboricultural
examination be compiled from a list of questions submitted by the LSU Agricultural Center
and the La. Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry.
New law adds the La. Arborist Assoc. and the Southern University Agricultural Research and
Extension Center to the entities required to submit questions for the arboricultural
examination and utility arboricultural examination.
Prior law required that arborists and utility arborists attend a continuing training seminar as
determined by the commission for license renewal.
New law requires that arborists and utility arborists complete a continuing training seminar
administered by the La. Arborist Assoc. or any other entity as determined by the commission
for licence renewal. Further requires a showing of proof of general insurance and workers
compensation insurance, if applicable.
Effective August 1, 2024.
