Existing law (R.S. 3:1(7)) provides that the definition of "state chemist" means the director
of the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station of the Louisiana State University
Agricultural Center and also shall mean his designee.
New law retains existing law but clarifies the definition relative to his designee.
Existing law (R.S. 3:1024) and (R.S. 3:3225) provides that the director of the Louisiana
Agricultural Experiment Station of the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center must
be the state chemist.
New law retains existing law and further provides that the director or his designee must be
the state chemist.
Effective May 15, 2024.
