This bill amends R.S. 18:536 to enhance the notification process for changes in polling places in Louisiana. It requires that when a parish governing authority or president changes a polling place, they must provide adequate notice not only of the change but also include the reason for the change to each registered voter and applicable candidates. Additionally, the governing authority is mandated to inform the secretary of state about these changes and the reasons behind them, which will be listed on the secretary of state's website in a sortable format.

Furthermore, the bill allows parish registrars of voters or clerks of court with websites to publish a list of polling place changes and their reasons on their own sites, along with a link to the secretary of state's website. This aims to improve transparency and communication regarding polling place changes. The provisions of this act will take effect on July 1, 2025.
