ACT 373 (HB 272) 2024 Regular Session Hughes
Existing law creates the Pressburg East Neighborhood Improvement and Security District
in New Orleans to promote and encourage the beautification, security, and overall betterment
of the district.
Existing law authorizes the governing authority of New Orleans, subject to voter approval,
to impose a parcel fee within the district to provide funds for the district.
Existing law provides that the fee shall be a flat fee per improved parcel. Prior law provided
that the maximum fee was $200 per parcel per year.
New law increases the maximum fee to $300 per parcel per year.
Prior law provided for expiration of the initial fee on Dec. 31, 2015.
New law provides for an eight-year initial term of the parcel fee.
Existing law authorizes renewal of the fee, subject to voter approval, for a term not to exceed
eight years.
Effective upon signature of governor (May 28, 2024).
