ACT 260 (HB 190) 2024 Regular Session Freiberg
Existing law provides for the Early Childhood Care and Education Commission to study and
make recommendations relative to early childhood care and education. Prior law provided
for 41 members of the commission. New law increases the membership from 41 to 45.
New law provides for four-year terms but specifies that terms of members appointed by
elected officials shall not extend beyond the term of the appointing authority.
Prior law provided that a majority of the commission members constituted a quorum for the
transaction of business. New law removes prior law and provides that the affirmative vote
of those present and voting is required for any action of the commission.
Effective August 1, 2024.
