This bill amends and reenacts specific sections of Louisiana law regarding the governance and powers of consolidated gravity drainage districts in Ascension Parish. It establishes that the board of commissioners for the East Ascension Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 will consist of Ascension Parish council members whose districts overlap with the drainage district. Additionally, the West Ascension Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 will have a three-member board, including the council member representing the majority of the district, the mayor of Donaldsonville or a designee, and an appointee from the Ascension Parish council for a four-year term.

Furthermore, the bill clarifies the powers of the drainage districts, allowing them to plan, construct, maintain, and operate various improvement works related to flood prevention, irrigation, and other community needs. It specifies that all services and work conducted by the East and West Ascension Consolidated Gravity Drainage Districts will be managed by the Ascension Parish president and executed through the parish's established departments and agencies.
