ACT 186 (HB 45) 2024 Regular Session Mike Johnson
Existing law provides for entities granting certain classes of certification to Montessori
teachers. New law adds the International Montessori Council and the Southwestern
Montessori Training Center.
Existing law, as an alternative to certification from these specified entities, provides for
certification from any Montessori training course jointly approved by the State Bd. of
Elementary and Secondary Education and the La. Montessori Assoc. New law additionally
provides for certification from any Montessori training course from a program accredited by
the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.
Effective August 1, 2024.
